After spending a wonderful holiday with family, Lindsay and I drove back home via the 5 freeway. We ate little chocolates and took in the wonderful smells of live cattle.

Half way into our trip, Lindsay accidentally dropped a big hunk of chocolate.

It fell right in that unreachable abyss underneath the seat.

We couldn't risk melted chocolate under the seat, so we pulled off the freeway.

In the middle of nowhere there was a black SUV parked just off the road.

The driver of the SUV was smiling at us.

I was getting a strange vibe.

The shoulder to right was way too rocky to pull over so my only option was to pull up behind the weirdo in black SUV.

We had no idea when we pulled up to the rear of his car

We would see the

REAR OF HIS WIFE!

His wife bending over to pee was this far away.

But it felt this far away.

She quickly realized she had an audience.

I tried to look everywhere but the pale white cheeks in front of my face.

I'm sure Lindsay would've liked me to just drive away and avoid any further humiliation, but my legs were paralyzed. I'm like a possum that way.

The woman screamed and jumped in her car without getting her pants up all the way.

I saw in the side view mirror, her husband laughing like a mad man.

They drove off.

"Do you want to get that chocolate before it melts."

Some iphone apps

I have some iphone app ideas (app is tech talk for applied information science technology)

My first iphone app would help you in any social situation where someone is about to spoil a movie you haven't seen.

"Hey, in the new MI4: Ghost Protocol there is this bomb a$* twist when Ethan Hunt finds out-"

The app will sound an alarm so powerful it will render the potential movie spoiler deaf, and give them horrible diarrhea.

Candies Of Yore

Some friends and I were reminiscing about all the great halloween candy we got when we were young. Some one mentioned they didn't sell candy cigarettes to children anymore and I was shocked.

When I was young, not only did we have candy cigarettes and bubble gum cigars, we had sugar syrup filled heroine needles with bubble gum tourniquet.

Cotton candy flavored juice bong.

Sugar powder cocaine. (I can see why this was taken off the market. Most kids snorted the sugar when they were supposed to just eat it.)

And tropical flavored meth amphetamine tabs with edible sores!

My generation grew up with all these and we turned out just fine! Only 12% of my friends are hooked on drugs (the non-candy kind) now. You can't beat those odds!

Future Present

It was recently my one year wedding anniversary. I wanted to surprise my wife and hot glue another diamond to her engagement ring.

But after some serious thought, and lack of hot glue, I took her to dinner instead.

Train Connection

On the train I saw an old woman staring at an old man.

After some time she said" Did the Giants win the game?"

The old man came to life. "Oh yes, they sure did. Sanchez pitched a great game!"

He went on and regaled her with the highlights of the game and his love for some of the new players.

He sat down next to her and continued to chat her up. A love connection was happening right before my eyes.

I looked down and noticed neither of them had a wedding ring. A love connection was exploding right in front of me.

I felt like I was going to crap my pants with joy and happiness. The soundtrack to Jerry McGuire was playing in my head and the world seemed to slow down just to enjoy this wonderful moment.

Then she said "Im trying to read this book."

Silence for the rest of the train ride.

Side fact: The old lady really was reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Who knew violent crime mysteries were popular amongst the old wrinklies.

JAPAN ART AUCTION

In about a month we are having an art auction for Japan and here is the drawing I did for it.

(8"x10"Acrylic with ink.)

It is a blueprint of a robot I have already submitted to the NRC (National Robot Council). As you can see it has every technology you would ever need. If my calculations are correct, and they always are, this will be in every household by the first quarter of the next full moon. It is called the Bionic Operating Nano Electric Robot, or for short the BONE- uh never mind, we are still currently working on a name.

Twilight Romance

Last weekend my wife and I were leaving Trader Joes with our groceries. We were right behind a grandma and her grandson. She was in her twilight years and he looked like he played a hunky werewolf in the best twilight film(new moon). The sun was setting and we had white cheddar corn puffs to eat when we got home, it was looking like that sunday was going to be my favorite sunday ever.

And then the unthinkable...

The hunky werewolf grabbed the grandma who was not his grandma(I think) and kissed her with a passionate open mouthed kiss.

Obviously I was stunned.

Lindsay played it cool...

Lindsay-"Just keep walking, don't look."

I was frozen.

After quite some time they stopped kissing and I regained the use of my legs. When I made it to the car, I looked up and saw...

He was helping her put on her seatbelt and went in for more old face sucking.

I tried to start the car...

But I couldn't. It was like I was looking at the eye of Sauron.

I was finally able to figure it out. We sped off home, but the damage was done. I didn't even feel like eating the white cheddar corn puffs anymore, my sunday was ruined.

I know what you're thinking. Was it really such a passionate looking kiss? The answer is, YES! It was a VERY passionate kiss.

I know what else you're thinking. How did you get so good at drawing cars? Answer, I worked on Cars 2 for like a year, so yeah, that's how.

The Wedding

Planning a wedding is like building ikea furniture, but you don't get instructions or even a picture of what the furniture should look like.

But by some miracle, you figure it out, and its the best furniture you've ever built. You enjoy the crap out of it for a day and it was worth all the trouble.

Now that I'm married, I am really looking forward to letting myself go. If I work hard at it, I think by next summer I could have 85% more belly, 75% less hair, a sparse and wild beard, and my Snuggie will fit like a sweater.

I have already started carrying a utility belt of hostess sno-ball cupcakes.

SEQUEL

Sorry I have been away for so long, I have been hard at work penning a screenplay for a sequel to the very popular summer movie, The Expendables. The movie was so successful I knew Hollywood would need a sequel. So, for the last six weeks I played online poker and ate flaming hot cheetos, but when I grew tired of that, I went straight to work on this screenplay. Twelve grueling minutes later, I had the final draft. The screenplay stays true to the original, people shooting at other people, but takes it to the next level. The new team of The Expendables is played by out-of-work actors who used to be famous kids, but are now old and strange looking. Thankfully, they still don't have a full time job, so they have already agreed to star in the film.

I will pitch it to Hollywood once I find their phone number. I can't wait! It should be Expendable!

Lindsay and I went for a hike in Temescal Canyon. A beautiful day to be in nature.

We talked about wedding plans and mostly chit chatted, but everyone we passed on the trail was talking about very serious things. It was as if being in the wild brought out the wild thoughts in their minds. Here are the bits of conversation we heard as we made our way up drama hill.

At the BART station the other day, there was a scary weirdo looking at my bike with great interest.

I thought he might be thinking about stealing it. He didn't, but it made me think of a great invention to stop bike theft.
This invention is a seemingly normal looking and working bicycle, but when stolen you can push a remote button to make the bike fall to pieces.
The thief would crash to the ground in a painful way, and it enables you to tell them to stop, and get their life together.

Toy Story 3

For the first time ever, I helped make a movie! Well, actually I was an extra in Ang Lee's Hulk, and I helped my cousin upload a youtube video once, but this is waaaaaay different.

That's right, a real bona fide hollywood(not actually made in hollywood) film! I was really lucky to be a part of the awesome team who made Toy Story 3 . Lee Unkrich is a great director, Michael Arndt is a great writer, Jason Katz is a great story supervisor, and the story crew was the best! My friends, James Robertson and Adrian Molina did some amazing stuff and I can't wait to work with those guys again!

It came out today, so go and see it! Stop reading this and GO! REALLY! Get in your car, drive to the theater, pay for the ticket- you know what to do! Okay no really, I'm being serious now. GO SEE THE MOVIE!! Alright, I'm sorry I yelled, I accidentally hit the caps lock and got carried away. Will you please go see it now...

I don't have a tattoo, but if I did, I would go for a full body one.

I would look like a bad mother. I'd be tough as nails and no one would mess with me.

But late at night when I was alone, I would contort my body and the tattoo would become a mural of my favorite puppies from the Air Buddies movie franchise.

I'd recommend this type of tattoo if you want to show the world how f'n cool you are without sacrificing your softer sensitive side.

Karaoke Guy

I was at a karaoke bar last week with this guy...

I didn't know him...but I wanted to. He wore giant gold framed sunglasses( at night in a dark bar) with matching gold chain. A dress shirt with adidas track jacket, basically the whole package. He would approach each girl in the bar, do air guitar, occasionally yell something in their ear and then they would walk away. This went on for most of the night....he must've gotten so many phone numbers.

Over the weekend I saw an old lady in the market eating a bunch of baked goods.

Choking them down like they were an afternoon tea sandwich. She had NO SHAME!

Not twenty four hours later I saw this oldie...

She ripped out a flower plant in front of the bank and put it in her purse. Also, felt NO SHAME!

I realize you old people feel the law doesn't apply to you anymore. You just blame it on your alzheimers, cataracts, or prescription meds, well NO MORE!

Now you will have to deal with THE ANGEL OF DEATH!

That is my crime fighting alter ego. I've done some research and found out old people are scared of death.

Much like Kick-Ass I would patrol the streets, fighting crime between 3pm and 4pm, that's when most of old people do crime, and I would hang out in front of Souplantation on Sundays, and the eye doctor the rest of the week.

Your reign of terror is over. No longer will you violate flower beds, or eat pastries you didn't pay for. You sicken me!

Desert Activity #27

When visiting the high desert there are many fun activities you can take part in. You can go rock climbing, see races at a dry lake bed, or start a meth lab. When I was growing up there, one of our favorite activities was hitting bats with pool skimmers.

Here are the steps so the next time you're visiting, lost, or have been kidnapped in the desert, you can do it too.

Items you'll need:
1. rocks
2. pool skimmer
3. sun setting
4. brother/friend
5. bats

Step 1: Collect rocks in your shirt basket(a shirt basket is when you lift the bottom of your shirt up past the navel to create a container).

Step 2: Ready your pool skimmer.

Step 3: Throw rocks 15 to 30 feet in the air.

Step 4: Bats will swoop down and try to eat the rocks because they think its a bug.

Step 5: Hit the bat with the pool skimmer.

Step 6: Give your partner a high-five.

Step 7: Repeat until your hearts content.

Something usually goes wrong when I fly and last weekend was no different. I was standing in line thinking about how delightful my trip went when a German guy poked me in the eye.

He was telling security about how he was just over in the other line, his arms and hands were flailing and ended up right in my looking ball.

He was very surprised and apologized profusely for the poke. I just stood there confused and hurt.

Security thought it was hilarious and said "He should buy you a beer!"

Last week I was on my bike and I spotted a piece of plastic that was perfect for the bottom of my drawing desk.

It was the right size and shape, but most importantly it had no trash smell.

I've had this super power since I was small. It's like a spidey sense but for garbage nobody wants.

I've even found perfectly good Nintendo 64's from three car lanes away.

And in my lifetime I have collected over THIRTY SIX DOLLARS in ground money!!! I know what you're thinking, you want me to teach you this power so you can find all this free cash and forgotten treasure. Well to that I say.... this super power cannot be taught... and I'm too lazy to teach you... and I don't want people picking up trash that I can have... and it's more of a curse than a blessing... and with great power comes great responsibility... and nobody likes a guy who goes through garbage.

Although I think Lindsay loves my ability and never ceases to be amazed.

Biker Gangs

Northern California has a lot of bikers and I have fallen victim of the craze. I bike regularly, but its dangerous because Im not affiliated with any of the gangs. In doing some research here are some of the biker gangs I could see myself getting jumped in to.

The Hipster Biker
Very popular in northern California, but I would need skinnier jeans and a sweet mustache for them to even consider my application.

The Gross Hippie Biker
This gang frequents Venice Beach and Santa Monica. One of the many things I like about the gross hippie gang is their acceptance of others and the membership fees are probably pretty reasonable.

The Really Serious Biker
I don't know if my crotch is willing to commit to this type of biking but I would love the little water backpack sippers.

The Confused Biker
The most dangerous of all biker gangs is the gang of middle aged parents who look really unstable on two wheels. They take their teenagers ten speed and ride it like it was their first time on a bike. People run out of their way in terror. I would love to be a part of a gang so feared in the community.

I see I have some serious decision thinking to do.

I am going to start a business that delivers dancing babies to any party venue in the bay area. I call it Tiny Dancers. I will dress up like Elton John and show up to a clients party with toddlers I have trained to dance.

I have done the market research and people love dancing babies. Weddings, birthdays, bar mitzvahs, even funerals are all made better with little dancing children.

After I teach the babies my patented "cute choreography" I will transport them in the bed of an el camino, I originally had a van in mind but because of all the negative connotations people have with vans full of children, I went with the open bed truck car. Then we will arrive at the event and boogey until the sun goes down(their bed time is sundown).

I am looking for people who would like to invest in this idea.

Things I will need to get started:
1. Start up capital($55-60,000).
2. An El Camino.
3. A keytar in used or near new condition.
4.Some walking around money(handful of ben franklins).
5. Babies who can memorize the steps and can dance for up to eight hours (Not toilet trained, not considered)

Think about how great dancing babies would be at your next baby shower, corporate offsite, state fair, ship christening, or protest march!!!

Woman vs. Market

I was in the corner eating a Clif bar, watching a guy dump a bunch of change into the coinstar machine, when you came in.

You were yelling obscenities and knocking all the muffins and cookies on the ground. You shouted " If you don't be more careful, you might have an ACCIDENT!"

You pushed a shopping cart into the sliding doors and they broke.
For your finale, you yelled out "BE MORE CAREFUL!!" and threw all the newspapers onto the ground.

So ma'am, I'm writing this letter to tell you whatever you are doing... I WANT IN! If you travel from store to store performing this scene, trying to get the word out about market safety, I would love to be a part of it.

When you came in and trashed the place, I was certain you were just a crazy lady breaking stuff, but then I saw through the obscenities and heard your message. I think we SHOULD be more careful in the grocery store. Too many times have I slipped on spilled Juicy Juice or cut my fingers on those dang tortilla packages! You are a visionary and this is me saying, I would like to be a part of your traveling safety show.

I think with some late night rehearsals we could turn your one woman show, into a one woman (you) and one man (me) show. Here are some ideas on how I could be incorporated into the act. I could cover myself in tomato cans and pretend to be dead from a soup can avalanche. I could paint my face blue( you would have to provide the paint) and pretend I am trapped in the frozen food freezer. I could dress as the market manager and when I try and kick you out of the store, I kick myself in the eye, basically whatever you need, I can be that. I played a ten year old boy in the junior college play Marvin's Room, so I do have some acting experience.

Bus Weirdos

Im back from my winter break! Went back home for the holidays and rode a lot of public transportation to get there.

One thing I noticed on the California bus system is...

the shifty guy in the back of the bus. I've been on my share of buses and one thing is universal, there is always at least one shady weirdo towards the back.

Does California have a law that says every bus must at least have one bus weirdo?

There are also lady bus weirdo's, but they are usually driving it.

Next time you're on a bus, look around to see if you can find the bus weirdo, if you can't, that means the bus weirdo is YOU!!!

SHARK SWARM

This is a promotion image for a tv movie called SHARK SWARM.

Its about sharks eating people because there is ocean pollution everywhere. Daryl Hannah and John Schneider play scientists who use lazer tag guns from my childhood to humanely stop the sharks from eating people.

I watched the trailer, and it really doesn't live up to the awesomeness of the poster. That image inspires me to finally sit down and write my ocean opera about a team of shark assassins. Im pretty sure if I found my trapper keeper from middle school, I would have a bunch of concept sketches for this project.

Alameda is a hot spot for tween couples. If you are in between the ages of twelve and fourteen and are in a serious relationship, Alameda is your hub. Every weekend I see at least thirty to forty prepubescent boys and girls, hanging onto one another for dear life.

I saw an advertisement on TLC for this new show called I DIDN'T KNOW I WAS PREGNANT, no this is not a new Charlie Sheen sitcom, this is a serious show about real life problems. A problem that has taken over America!

The advertisement said, "Coming up on I DIDN'T KNOW I WAS PREGNANT" and they cut to a women screaming on the toilet. I didn't see the episode, but I put two and #2 together and I think I know how it played out. The image of that women has stayed with me, now every time I go to the bathroom, I think, could I be pregnant? Turns out Im not, but here are some questions to ask yourself, so you can figure out whether or not you are preggers.

1. Is there a child in your belly?

This might seem like a no brainer, but go ahead and feel around. Babies are small, so it might just be hiding under a kidney.

2. Are you a woman?

Women are 72% more likely to have babies then men.

3. Do storks like to hang around you?

If the science is correct, storks have been known to give people babies.

4. Do you wear mom jeans?

Only mom's wear mom jeans.

5. Does your boyfriend/husband/one night stand look like this...

No need to check with a doctor, you're pregnant.

I hope this helps. I was once a baby in a belly myself, so I think I know a little bit about being pregnant.

Halloween

In the spirit of the holiday I thought I would post some of the awesome costumes my Mom made over the years.

Im Batman in this one. I was much scarier than the Christian Bale version. I struck fear in the hearts of all criminals.
Im Spiderman and my bro is the hobo clown. We are showing off the disguises we won at a halloween party. That isn't padding in my costume, I was a ripped 8 year old.
We went for the horror genre that year. And yes, that is real blood on my face. I bit my sister just before the picture.

And of course this awesome Michelangelo costume. It was ten times better than the Kmart plastic mask version. I am trying to slim down so I can wear this again. Those nunchucks were no joke, my dad made them out of pvc pipe connected by a metal chain. I put eight kids in the hospital that night...three of them are still in critical condition.
My Mom went to town that year. She transformed my brother into Frankenstein, my older sister into the card from Alice In Wonderland, and my little sister into a vicious bat.

I remember every year my brother and I used to take down the box of all the halloween costumes my Mom made, and we would mix and match the costumes. We would have Frankenstein pants, Marvin Martian shoes, and a Batman mask and run out to the street to scare the passing cars. It was great fun!

Spider MAN!

Lindsay and I went to the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles because we wanted to see the Dino Lab! When we purchased the tickets they said for three dollars more we could see the Spider Pavilion! Feeling the halloween spirit we both enthusiastically said yes.

The Spider Pavilion is just outside the museum in a greenhouse type tent. We walked through a plastic curtain and inside we did not find a spider pavilion but a SPIDER KILL ZONE!

Huge spiders on webs and in the bushes. My first thought was this is how they feed the spiders. They get two healthy unsuspecting people, trick them into thinking they are going to see cool spiders behind three inches of plexi glass, and then watch as the spiders feast on them.

Even though our lives were clearly in danger, I wanted to get my three dollars worth, so we walked through the maze of arachnids, keeping our limbs very close to our bodies.

Every time we'd turn around there would be another eight legged beast setting up to jump on our face.

After a bit, Lindsay turned to me and asked:

"Can we go now?"

And I said:

"Are you not enjoying this?"

We got out of the Spider Pavilion with our lives intact, but even as I type this I still feel their poisonous legs tickling my skin...that may never go away.

The Dino Lab was super cool!

It started at work. My ankle was itching like crazy.

Wednesday

I woke up the next morning and to my surprise I had mosquito bites all over. My ankle in particular was itchy, red, and a wee bit swollen.

Thursday

I remembered when I stayed down in southern California over the weekend, the window was open and it was so warm I didn't need a blanket. Mosquitoes must have come in and feasted on an old mountain biking wound from the week before. I would think fresh soars are like a Vegas buffet to mosquitoes.

Saturday it had doubled in size. Most my wounds I like to look at closely and in different lighting. I like to poke at them to gauge the amount of pain I am in or might be in later on.

Saturday

It got pretty bad.

Okay maybe not that bad. But still pretty bad.

But with all my wounds, I figure its best to just...

walk it off.

The next morning I was greeted with a much less swollen leg.

This may not work for everyone, but it works for me, and one day I will pass this technique on to my children.

I think the animation industry should cash in on the teenage vampire genre that is all the rage. I am working on a screenplay called Blood Tryst: Emotions. It is the first in a series about a vampire bat in high school.

RUN IN

One of my favorite things is the awkward run in. It is when the walking trajectory of two people match up, they notice it, try to advert the collision, and wind up doing a spastic dance to go around.

I've done it many times and have seen it happen to other people many times. In school me and a friend enjoyed this so much we tried to manufacture them with varying results.

Last week I saw one of the best run ins you could find. An F-5 run in. The rating system is like tornadoes, F-1 being weak and F-5 being incredible. Shion, I submit this run in into the run in hall of fame.

Here's is how it went down:

I was stopped in traffic on the bridge. There was bicycle guy.

And walking guy.

Bicycle guy was coming up to walking guy.

Walking guy noticed bicycle guy and tried to get out of the way.

It turned into a spastic dance.

I saw this next part in slow motion.

The contact was long and awkward. Bicycle guy's face was almost swallowed by walking guys back. Walking guy was so stunned by the run in he couldn't move.

I couldn't hear walking guy but I read his lips and his lips said "sorry".

THIS MONTH AT THE MOVIES

The other day I caught a movie review show on public access. I think they shoot it in Berkeley, I think the name is This Month at the Movies, and Im certain its the best movie critique you'll find on television.
The critics are two mothers who look like they shop in the yarn ball section at Michael's. One in her mid thirties who brought her notes on a folded piece of notebook paper, and the other is a grandmother who held a more professional blue index card.

I wrote down some of my favorite quotes from the show.

After watching a clip of Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist:

Gladis- "I haven't seen the movie, but that looks cute, so maybe I'll see the rest."

On Transformers 2:
Beverly-" Its a big movie with loud explosions and I think Spielberg is the director, or at least he is involved somehow. You can take out all the sexual scenes and it would be much better"

After watching a clip of John Adams:

Gladis-"That looks good. I'm gonna have to get that at the library."

That was the point in the show where I realized Gladis hadn't seen any of the films they were reviewing. The blue index card made her look prepared, but it was all a ruse.

The point where the show's quilt really started to unravel was when they played a clip from a teenage dancing movie, and they cut back to Gladis who is saying how scared she is to eat hamburgers, and wonders if the cows in her neighborhood are being mistreated. At first I thought... well thats just Gladis, but then I realized she was reviewing a documentary about hamburger meat. She had actually watched a movie and was critiquing it on the show, but they didnt have the right movie clip, so I didn't know what the hell movie she was talking about. It was awesome.

My favorite quote in the show happened just when I thought I had figured Gladis out...

Gladis-"The Hangover was hilarious. I never laughed so hard."

I know I am making fun of the show, but in all actuality I really enjoyed how simple and positive their critiques were. " I like this movie." "It was funny." Im gonna get it on VHS." is much more fun to watch. You hear a lot of critics using flowery ten dollar words to show how perspicacious they really are, but I prefer this show and I will definitely watch again.

By the way Gladis and Beverly are not their actual names. I don't know their real names. Hopefully I will find out this month on a brand new This Month At The Movies!!!

One time at Calarts I had a bunch of charcoal on me from life drawing class.

After that I realized something had to be done.

Now when I go to the bathroom I'll do a mental check list.

#1 Check the sign on the front door. If the sign has the symbol of a man, proceed.

#2 Urinals are found in the mens restroom, not the womens. If you see wall toilets you're on the right path.

#3 The third and final check that will dispel all worry... OTHER MEN! If you see men going to the bathroom, chances are you're in the mens bathroom and you will be ...

This checklist can also help women. Just substitute men for women and urinals for a clean floor.

LOTR BABIES

I am a fan of the Lord of the Rings series. I watched the first two when I was feeling under the weather. My health can let me down but those movies never do! My dream would be to one day direct a prequel. I know Del Toro is handling The Hobbit, which is fine, because I wanted to do one a little further back... when they were all BABIES!

Think Muppet Babies but with your favorite Lord of the Rings characters! The movie would be full of origin stories. You would get to see Aragorn and Legolas at Rivendale Grammar School, see how Gandalf got his wizard powers, and did you know LOTR wasn't the first time Golem and Sam met!

Currently looking for a storyboard artist to draft the first 90 minutes. No pay, but credit on a legitimate production and all you can eat graham crackers (half a box)!

HAWAII

Hawaii is super nice! It was just how I pictured. On Saturday the weather was beautiful and sunny, I found this awesome cove with crashing waves and beautiful views so I proposed to Lindsay!

Here is how it happened:

Walking down the rocks I checked my pocket to make sure the ring was still there.

I was a bit nervous. I grabbed her hand and said my thoughts and heart feelings.

She realized what was happening.
I pulled out a ring pop.
We had a good laugh.
Then I got serious...

and pulled out the real one...
and asked her to marry me.
She said yes! And then this dolphin scooped us from the rocks and we rode him towards a beautiful ocean sunset.
Part of this story is fiction. I leave it to you to decide which part that is.

Lost in Hawaii

Invention Tuesday

I would like to see these inventions in the near future.

The first is a fridge with a handle that can read what nutrients your body needs and lets you know what you should eat to stay healthy.

The second is one that might need some real geniuses to figure out. It is a machine that records our dreams so we can watch them the next morning.

If we just took some of the scientists working on hybrid technology and put them on these projects, I think it would be worth it.

Frost/Skeletor

But you'll agree, the one that steals the show is definitely Skeletor. I was captivated as a kid and still captivated now by his performance. Turns out, there is a reason I'm so moved by that guy...it's because he's this guy.

If Frost knew he was up against Skeletor, I don't think he would've continued the interviews. I'm glad he did though. Frank Langella is great in Masters of the Universe and Frost/Nixon. I recommend both!

I had to include this He-man Cosplay .I love how the photos start out awesome, but by the third one it takes a terrible turn.

Harmony of Composition

In an effort to make this more of an educational blog, I decided to analyze some compositions I found on the internet machine. Take a look at this first image. It is a good example of leading the eye...

Where does your eye go? The cute kittens, right? Anywhere your eye starts on the image, there is an element to lead it to the kittens. The contrast between the majestic white unicorn and the dark oranges and blacks of the playful calicos really

makes the middle of the piece the center of interest.

The addition of kittens elevates this from a good composition to a dynamic one.

Next image...

Again the darkest part of the image, the bushes, frames the kittens head, which makes it the emphasis of the piece. Also the cat on the balcony, not as cute as the kitten in hand, but still very important to the composition. It breaks up the huge dark bushes and leads your eye like an arrow to the cuter one.

This next painting, although great, could be more dynamic with a well placed kitten.

I think in compositions we should all look to find where the unicorn needs the kitten, and vice versa. I have a note above my workspace that says "Does this unicorn compostion need a kitten?" to which I always reply "Yes, yes it does"

I've been flying a lot lately,going north to south and south to north. And like most things, if you do them a lot, you get really good at them. Well, I have really stepped up my flying game over this last year, it is now bordering on professional. I don't wear a belt through security, I wear shoes that can easily slip on and off, and I ask for the ocean spray cran-grape before the flight attendant even gives me the options. I fly with the greatest of ease.

Or, at least I used to. My friend let me borrow the first season of Lost and now....

I get it. Now I get why everyone likes that show and why people are terrified to fly. I realize now the plane could potentially fall out of the sky and crash land on an island of polar bears and angry fog.

I find myself looking around the cabin wondering who would be the Jack, the Locke, the Charlie. I fancy myself as a Kate, the deadly outlaw with even deadlier good looks. Next time you are on a plane see if you can spot the Hurly, the Claire, the Turniphead.

To keep the plane theme rolling, my friend and office mate James, sent me this funny video of comedian Louis CK. The plane jokes are really funny.

3. I met Stephen Baldwin four months ago backstage at a concert....

In order to complete the Baldwin trifecta I will be frequenting restaurants I know Billy likes.

A coyote of my own

www.dailycoyote.net is a blog I like to look at. It is by Shreve Stockton who writes and takes pictures about her pet coyote, Charlie. I love this blog because I too would love a pet coyote. I hope to one day find a recently orphaned coyote baby and raise it up to be my loyal dog.

The closest I've gotten, was jogging near CalArts. I was running through some high brush, and the head of coyote popped up only ten feet away from me. I took a moment to try and tame the wild dog with my eyes. It was a good half minute of locked looking balls when I decided I needed to take our relationship to the next level. I knelt down slowly. She turned her head to take off, but my eyebrows went up in an expression that said "don't go". She got the message and turned back towards me. I took this as a good sign, so I held out a hand to invite a nice pet, but she had enough. The kiyoat jumped over the hill and out of my life forever. I ran those same hills over the next few weeks with corn chips in my pocket. I was hoping to see her again, and use the corn chips to lure her in close to me. I thought just as she came to snack, I would wrestle her to the ground and wait until she gave in to our friendship. Now I know for next time you befriend wild animals through force, not patience and respect.

When I finished my film I stop drawing the main characters. I stopped because it was all I drew for a whole semester. For months and months I designed, animated, and colored this guy and his monkey, so I stopped. But then a few days ago I sat down with my sketch book and I wanted to draw them.

I love the feeling of knowing exactly how to do it. There is no question of where the eyes go, or how long the legs are. The pencil instinctively knows where to go. I definitely recommend going back and drawing your old characters. And if you don't have an old character just draw somebody elses. For example, spawn, e.t., ziggy... the list goes on.

I think they are all great and I think hollywood would be smart to do one mega crossover. Robocop, Alien, T1000, Neo, Ironman team up to fight Wolverine, Skywalker, E.T. , and Biff Tannen.... Wolverine would win.

I had the extreme pleasure of animating for Three Legged Legs over the summer.

The directors who comprise the legs, Casey Hunt, Reza Rasoli, and Greg Gunn are making some awesome stuff over there, and I was happy to be an honorary leg. They are incredibly good at what they do.

The animators who I worked with on these spots are also very talented. Dylan Spears, Jahmad Rollins, and Kathleen Quaife did some amazing stuff.
